The new DMR Sidekick 20 is the perfect bike for developing trail skills. It's a step above your average kids’ bike in every way. The geometry is designed to help riders progress and learn to ride out of the saddle for off-road riding on more challenging terrain, whether it's the local BMX track, pump track, the trails, or dirt jump spot. The DMR Sidekick Ride can handle it all.
The DMR Sidekick Ride frame and fork are made from premium quality, lightweight, and tough aluminium – the same as our pro dirt jump bikes. Just like the big bikes, we've paid close attention to the geometry details. A longer rear end helps with stability at speed, and the perfect head angle and fork design create confidence-inspiring steering for when your young rider knows exactly where they want to go (also comes in handy for when they don’t). It's simple to ride, easy to love, and fun from the get-go.
This bike features 20” wheels front and rear for balanced and stable handling – this set-up encourages the rider to shift their weight and control the bike whilst standing on the pedals – it’s light, agile and tough.
The powerful hydraulic disc brakes and chunky 20-inch knobbly tyres give loads of confidence-inspiring grip and control. The smaller pedals, shorter cranks, simple gearing and overall set-up has been designed to be perfectly in proportion with the riders who are going to love riding this bike; smaller diameter handlebars and grips really show that we’ve thought of everything. Now you have mastered the basics we’re ready to really ride and get going out of the saddle.
Features
BUILT LIGHT & LOW – Lightweight aluminium frame and forks, with a very low stand-over for young riders. A 29mm BB drop helps make it super stable.
LONG AND SLACK – Custom DMR Bikes geometry - long wheelbase and mixed wheel size for extra stability – just like a full-size adult MTB. Super easy to ride, simple to learn on, easy to get going.
PERFECTLY PROPORTIONED FOR KIDS – Shorter cranks, smaller pedals, narrow diameter bars and custom size grips for small hands, and a smaller size DMR Dirt saddle.
HYDRAULIC DISC BRAKES – Genuine Tektro MTB hydraulic disc brakes front and rear, complete with smaller levers for smaller hands.
PROPER MTB TYRES – Large volume knobbly tyres for lots of grip and comfort – Vee Crown Gem, 20” x 2.25”
COVERED CHAIN DEVICE – Hebie chainguard fully encloses the chain – fully ISO8098 compliant, means less dirt and oil on kids’ clothes and for longer life.
