HOW TO SPOT FAKE DMR BIKES PRODUCTS
With the rise of global online shopping, there has also been an increase in websites that advertise fake DMR products at very low prices. These vendors exist solely to deceive customers and take their money in exchange for sub-standard goods with our brand name on them. We prioritize the security of our customers and the integrity of our products and brands – and that all genuine DMR Bikes products are sold through legitimate outlets and proper bike shops.
What to look for
The offer is too good to be true – If you come across DMR or DMR Bikes products at unusually low prices with excessive discounts, it's a red flag. If an offer seems too good to be true, it probably is. Avoid giving these sellers your money or any personal information.
Vendors have been known to sell cheap goods via AliExpress
The guidelines from AliExpress – which can apply to any e-commerce site pertaining to sell fake DMR Bikes goods – is as follows:
Guaranteed Genuine is an additional guarantee that sellers may offer for some of their products sold on AliExpress.com. If the item you purchased under this guarantee is confirmed to be counterfeit, you will get a full refund (shipping costs included) from the seller.
Contact DMR to authenticate product
If you are unsure if the product you purchased is genuine – we can check it over and see if it’s genuine or otherwise. We pride ourselves on high standards of product design and the finest manufacture for all DMR products – fake or faulty products in the marketplace are no good for customers, riders, or DMR Bikes.
If you believe you’ve fallen victim to a fake product sale
If you suspect you have provided personal information to a fake or fraudulent website, purchased a counterfeit product, contact your bank or credit card company immediately. Alas, there is nothing that DMR Bikes can do to help if you've given money or information to a fake site.
Reporting fake DMR products
If you suspect a DMR product is fake or counterfeit, please report it to us through our contact page. Thanks!
We pride ourselves on the build quality of our genuine DMR Vault pedals, and any fake DMR Vault pedals are usually made with lower quality materials, less machining, poor bearing standards, and low tolerances – they simply don't last. Here is how to tell genuine DMR Vaults from fake pedals. In the photos below, the fake/counterfeit Vault pedal is on the right-hand side of each image, the genuine Vault pedal on the left.
The box is the older style and the printing is not straight
The pedal body has smoother edges with less machine work
The counterfeit Vault anodising is more dull in appearance
The pedal graphics are water decals rather than laser etched
The pedal pins are not genuine DMR Flip Pins
The axle is different in appearance and has an ill-fitting seal
