DMR Bikes Bicycles & Dirt Since 1995
For over 30 years, we have dedicated ourselves to creating some of the finest mountain bikes, dirt jump bikes, pedals, frames, and components in the industry. Our journey has seen the development of iconic products like the V12 pedal, Deathgrips and the legendary Trailstar bike, all of which have become symbols of quality and performance. Our passionate team of experienced riders and innovative designers collaborates closely with some of the most prominent characters in the sport, ensuring that every part we create not only meets but exceeds the design brief. Through relentless testing and feedback, we strive to make the best products in biking. See you at the trails.
FOUNDED IN 1995
After living and working in Taiwan, Matt and Damian returned and started DMR from a small office on a farm behind a motocross track. No heating and room only for two desks, a drawing board, a computer, phone, fax, and a small shelf for stock. The first product was single-speed Chain Tugs – which we still make.
BMX ROOTS
A mixture of BMX roots, motocross influence, and industrial design are the foundations of the brand – one of the first projects was the DMR Trigger, a full 4130 chromoly, do-it-all BMX frame made for all forms of riding back in the day. A UK equivalent to an S&M Dirt Bike, the Trigger helped set the tone.
Testing
Right from the outset it has always been crucial for DMR products to be tested, tested, and tested again – whether that’s a frameset (DMR Trigger shown here from 1996), a set of grips or pedals, or a whole new concept that hadn’t been realised before – our riders help design, develop, and test ride every product we make.
FROM 95 ‘TIL…
30 years later, DMR produces a wide range of market-leading MTB components and accessories, from Deathgrips and Vault pedals to signature handlebars and complete bikes. Collaborating closely with team riders, DMR designs and develops products from concept to rider, partnering with long-established factories primarily in Taiwan. DMR has a strong international presence with more than 40 distributors across markets including the USA, Canada, France, Germany, and Australia.
Logos Through the Ages
FLAT PEDAL THUNDER
Right at the start we noticed that MTB SPD pedals had better bearings and axles than the flat pedals used on BMX bikes — sparking the idea for DMR pedals. The first V8 pedal was open-mould with loose ball bearings and crucially, the manufacturer agreed to make it with sealed bearings, creating the V12 — a pedal that redefined mountain biking.
